Worldwide fragrance company Givaudan has chosen Orange Business Services for network acceleration. The global network giant will provide Business Acceleration and Enterprise Application Management to optimize its document management system and other enterprise applications. A long-term Orange customer, Givaudan uses the Orange Business Services network to connect 82 locations in 45 countries. It had faced a steadily increasing need for network bandwidth for several years and was considering using a network acceleration solution. The final trigger came with the implementation of a new global document management platform. It wanted to ensure that there were no potential performance issues, particularly in remote locations. As part of a network improvement study, Orange proposed a Riverbed Steelhead-based solution to help Givaudan overcome performance and latency issues. The solution will assure high performance for Givaudan's document management platform and allow it to accelerate and optimize many of its other business applications. "Orange is a trusted advisor in a long-term partnership and provides broad expertise in the Enterprise Application Management solution from Riverbed," said Jean-Yves Benedeyt, Givaudan IT Global Infrastructure Manager. "We don't need higher bandwidth because certain applications, in particular, are much faster now and are no longer a bottleneck in productivity." The solution is delivered as an extension of Givaudan's IP VPN and includes the deployment and management of Riverbed Steelheads on 74 worldwide network points of presence.
